I want to share my experiences on applying PTPTN Repayment Exemption (For 1st class degree ).
To apply this, you have to do the following steps.
1) Go to the website http://www.mqa.gov.my/MQR/english/eakrbyipta.cfm to check whether your course is accredited by MQR. Following is an example for the accredited course in UTM. Print out the Accreditation slip.

2. Download the "Surat Akuan Pelajar" from PTPTN Website.

3. Write an official letter. For the letter, you can refer below letter:

bagi ijazah kepujian kelas pertama.

dalam (your course) di (University XXXX) dengan kepujian
Kelas Pertama (PNGK X.XX). Lampiran yang disertakan
bersama dengan surat ini adalah salinan ijazah dan salinan transkrip yang telah
disahkan oleh penolong pendaftar dari Bahagian Akademik.

Untuk memudahkan rujukan oleh Tuan / Puan, saya menyertakan bersama nombor
rujukan PTPTN iaitu PTPTN/SPP/XXXX/XXXXX. (you can find this number at your PTPTN application letter)
Saya mendahului dengan ucapan ribuan terima kasih
kepada pihak Tuan / Puan atas jasa baik Tuan / Puan.

4. Photocopy your 1st class certificate and the transcript and get certify by your university Academic Management Division.
Then, attached all the documents (Step 1 to step 4) in envelope & send to
Unit Penguatkuasaan dan Kutipan Balik,
Bahagian Pinjaman pelajar,
Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional
Lot G2, Tingkat Bawah
Wisma Chase Perdana Off Jalan Semantan

After that just call PTPTN to follow your application status.

1. How long have you waited to get reply from PTPTN for the application status?
2. If I still have not received my 1st class certificate (because my convo will be next year Oct), what can I do?
3. I heard that the confirmation on application status will take a few months. I have already received the reminder letter from PTPTN for the repayment. Can I ignore it?

ReplyDeleteLast time i apply this, i'm very " KIA SI" . I purposely travel from Johor to PTPTN HQ to submit my application form. I scare the POS service do not deliver my application form. hehe..

---( you can try contact your university Academic Management Division see whether can get the certificate & Transcript early... remember ask them to certify your photocopy)

(--Depends, some of my friend get approved within a month after they apply. You can ignore it once you get the confirmation letter from PTPTN. I also get the reminder letter from PTPTN, but after they have approved my application so no more reminder letter.
you also can check your balance at this link ( http://epay.ptptn.gov.my/penyata/index.html) .
when they approve your application, the balance will show RM0.00

May I ask how to prove we are first class degree? I'm from UTM, my cert and transcript do not stated I'm first class degree.. So, what should I do? Should I write a letter to prove I'm a first class degree with the verification of Officer Academic? or any other methods? Thank you.

I think the certificate & transcript (after return the robe) do state your grade.
I'm not sure why yours do not but you can refer to university Academic Management Division.
If follow all the steps that i have mention should be not a problem. Most of my friends can get PTPTN Repayment Exemption when they follow the procedure with complete documents.

Hi i need ur help.. i submitted my forms on 4th december last year.. but till now i still receive no update either through email or personal letter... What should i do ?.. When i check the epay website u posted above and when i key in my IC. I get a link stating penyata baki..
